ABOUT US

The girls have a real love for the 1940's era and are passionate about bringing these wonderful melodies and heartfelt lyrics to life.

They have sung together professionally for the last ten years and have extensive experience as performers, ranging from the West End through to regular function work.

Having trained in Acting and Musical Theatre, both girls are thrilled to be utilising their experience and skills to create their own unique tribute act.

The pair absolutely love what they do and have been told regularly that this shines through when performing.

BACKGROUND

EVENTS

Events we have performed at include vintage fairs, air shows, museums, weddings, themed evenings and theatre shows, to name but a few. We recently had our own show, 'There'll Always be an England' at the Pier Theatre in Bournemouth.

We also regularly perform at care homes and day centres - an aspect of our job that we find especially rewarding.

We can cater for any event, large or small. We provide our own PA system, so are completely self-contained. We also use quality backing tracks of the highest standard.

With 2014 being the centenary of the First World War, we consider ourselves to be the perfect entertainment choice.

Betty

(Helen Golding)

Funny, kind, caring and compassionate (but sometimes scatterbrained!), Betty is the type of girl everyone wants as their best friend. With a heart of gold, she'd do anything for anyone. Reliable, rythmic and dedicated to her music, Betty always puts her heart and soul into every song she sings.

We are an established 1940's style duo singing songs from The Andrews Sisters through to Gracie Fields and Vera Lynn with a lot in between! We pride ourselves on our tight harmonies, inspiring choreography and authentic costumes, taking our audience on an uplifting musical march down memory lane.

We start our shows with the sophistication of The Andrew Sisters' swing style of music, and then invite our audience to sing along to some well-known favourites, including: 'The Siegfried Line', 'If you Knew Susie', 'Roll Out the Barrell' and many more. We then conclude with a wartime set, providing the audience with flags to recreate a memorable 'spirit of the Blitz' experience. We aim to leave our audience singing and smiling for hours afterwards!

These talented young ladies make up the glamorous and memorable duo known as The Land Girls!

Together...

(Pippa Thurgood)

Practical and polite, calm and capable (but sometimes bossy!), this organised lady likes to get things done. But don't be fooled! Joan's no-nonsense exterior hides a burning inner passion that ignites as she sings.
